NÖDRAKETPISTOL

The Cogswell & Harrison ”rescue pistol” is a British World War I-era Signal No. 1 Mk III flare pistol. Manufactured by London’s oldest gunmaker, these 1-inch bore, brass-framed pistols were essential for signaling and, in emergency situations, acting as a ”rescue” tool for troops, with many surviving examples dating to 1915–1916.

Cogswell & Harrison was established in May 1770 and is London’s oldest surviving gun maker. The company has manufactured an exceptionally diverse range of sporting shotguns and rifles during its long and colourful history. In 2008 the company was purchased by the Brennan family, the proprietors of Ardee Sports Company.
